Tamang Usapan: Usapang may Tama (TUUMT) has been a long time in the making. It all began as casual conversations between two friends—something we’ve been doing since childhood—discussing anything and everything under the sun. Separated by sea and land, we eventually decided to share our ideas and reflections with the world.
The idea had been floating around during the pandemic, but it wasn’t until January 2023 that we finally took the plunge. We jumped in, pressed the record button, and voila! Our very first episode was published on February 13, 2023. It was an unstructured episode with less-than-professional audio quality (something that hasn’t changed much since then), but it marked the beginning of our journey. Over time, we’ve built a small yet engaging community of lovers of Sophia—wisdom.
Back in January 2023, as we recorded that first video chat, we had no idea that three years later, our Usapan would still be ongoing. For this, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have supported us along the way.
What to Expect in the New Season
So, what’s in store for this season? More of the same—unrefined, unscripted, and unplanned discussions that cover a wide range of topics. But also, something new. This year, we aim to bring in more guests—fresh voices who can broaden our perspectives beyond what the two of us, with our limited minds, can offer. We also want to be more active in our kuro-kuro section (written articles) on the website.
If possible, we’d love to improve our production quality. Of course, as your “favorite background noise,” perhaps our chaotic charm is part of the appeal? Still, any help in professionalizing our setup would be greatly appreciated!
One of our biggest goals this year is to engage more with you—our TUUMT community. We want to hear your comments and suggestions and shape our discussions around your questions and ideas.
Above all, we will continue striving to fulfill our raison d’etre: to have deep, meaningful conversations about things that matter—even if they seem chaotic at first.
So, here’s to another year of Usapan with you—cheers!
